Christmas 2014!

Christmas was so much fun this year because you actually were able to enjoy some of your presents! Our Christmas fun started with Grandma's side of the family at Uncle Getty and Aunt Tammy's house. We had hotdogs and you loved them! I was super afraid of the weenie, but I cut it up so small, you really could not even chew it : ).

You got the owl the sang "Owl be home for Christmas" from Grandma and Grandpa and loved it! Cousin Kacie and Michael gave you some blocks and you liked for daddy to put the bucket on his head.
And you liked to put it on your head too!
 Peek a boo!

Next, we had Christmas at church and you were so cute. I loved the bow tie and suspenders. I bought them in Pigeon Forge when we went in October. You got so many presents and the children put on the cutest Christmas play. We had fun celebrating Jesus' Birthday and had fellowship after the service.

On Christmas Eve, you spent the day with Grandpa while Mama and Daddy worked. Then, we had Christmas for Nana's side of the family. You actually broke the coffee pot you were playing with in this picture : ). We had a good time opening up presents and stayed after the party ended and opened up gifts with Nana/Papa, Uncle Lee and Aunt Kacie, and Aunt Coco.

After we left, we got in your pajamas and you went to sleep. Mama and Daddy stayed up until 3:00 putting up your toys and getting ready for Christmas Day.
We woke up the next morning and brought you down to see all of your toys. You just smiled and was not sure what to think. Mama and Daddy got you a big ball pit and lots of smaller toys. I think your favorite was the vacuum and the little watering pitcher I made for you.We all had matching pajamas which I loved!! I even got Uncle Colby, Aunt Ashley, and Grandma/Grandpa to wear them!

I cooked a big breakfast of bacon, eggs, and wheat toast that morning. You had never had bacon before. You had a couple of bites.

We also moved your pack n play out of the living room and got you a toy organizer so that you could see all of your toys.

Then, Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Colby, and Aunt Ashley came over for mama's birthday and to open our presents. Grandma and Grandpa got you a fourwheeler so of course we had to try it out.

Our matching pajamas
Ma and Pa and Nana and Papa came over later to look at all of your toys.

It was such a fun day! I pray that we teach you that Christmas is about celebrating Jesus' birthday as you grow older. It is such a special time of the year to celebrate with family!

First Parade

Uncle Colby is now the head pharmacist at a new Walmart that will be opening in Pacolet. During Pacolet's Christmas parade, he was handing out candy and we went to see him.

Uncle Colby and Aunt Ashely waiting on the parade

You were excited about going!

Giving Daddy some loving before and during the parade

 I love our little family!

You loved hearing the fire trucks, police cars, and seeing the horses in the parade. We also went to the Union parade. Right before it started, you peed through your clothes and all over me, but we just waited and watched the parade before we went to change you....what's just a little pee right? I think we will be going to many more parades in the years to come.

15 Months!

Lucas, you continue to amaze me! You are able to do so many things and you are growing up so fast. I cannot remember what life was without you. You are so sweet and you bring so much joy to mama and daddy's life! We went to the doctor this month for your 15 month check up. Your stats were:
                Weight: 23.31 lbs (57.51%)
Length: 32.25 inches (84.44%)
Head Circumference: 18.23 in (34.02%)

You are wearing size 18-24 month clothes now and still size 4 diapers. You are eating great and eat most things. You are starting to eat carrots and sweet potatoes again. Your favorites are still green beans and broccoli...and of course you love any kind of chicken. You also love turkey deli meat! You love to dance/jump, laugh, brush your teeth, read books, and take a bath. Your favorite thing to do is to go outside and run straight to the woods.
You are all toddler now. Running, climbing, eating, talking....you are now longer a baby : (. You still love to cuddle which is a huge plus though. I cannot even begin to start to name all of the words you say now because you say so many! You are putting two words together now too! You are so sweet and polite and say "up please" when you want up. We went to the Zoo for the first time to see the Christmas lights at the zoo in Columbia. I took a half day off of work on a Friday and Daddy got home early. We stopped at Chik-Fil-A (one of your favorite places to eat). I have to order you your own kids meal now! You love the grilled chicken nuggets, cinnamon applesauce, and milk. You also love to eat daddy's fries. You really enjoyed seeing all of the animals at the zoo and we had such a fun night! You got a toy that glowed in the dark and mama and daddy had fresh caramel popcorn and hot chocolate. You met another little boy your age and waved really liked having someone your age. Then, it was time to pack up and head back home. We stopped at Daddy's favorite restaurant (Zesto's) and you had a chicken leg.

We decided to take your care instead of your stroller so that you could see more of the animals. It was a hit and we will do that more often!

They had fake snow falling in some of the areas and you loved it! I hope it snows some this year so that you can see real snow!

We also talked Daddy into getting a real Christmas tree this year. We had a fun trip planned to go to NC to pick and cut down our own tree and make a really fun day of it. However, you got really sick with the croup. You woke up around 4:00 at night with a horrible cough and I gave you an albuterol treatment. Daddy, Grandma, and I took your to the doctor the next morning as soon as it opened. You were still coughing pretty badly. They cough your a mixture of epinephrine, albuterol breathing treatment and a progesterone shot! I had to take you back ~4 hours later for the same breathing treatment. Thankfully, after all of those meds and prayers, you were feeling much better. I stayed out of work with you the next day and you were feeling much better. However, the next day, I woke up with the same thing you had and we were not able to go to NC to get our tree. Uncle Colby and Aunt Ashley were so sweet and just picked us up one from Lowes and brought it to us. We had fun decorating it that night as a family. We played Christmas music and I baked sugar cookies. You loved your first sugar cookie with cold milk. We were so thankful you were feeling better.

So glad you are feeling better!

14 Months!

Lucas, you are a talking machine. You have added many words to your vocabulary! You are now saying mommy and daddy/dada consistently. You say apple and bible beautifully. You also say pop and bubbles, bye-bye, all done, I'll get it, eeww, up, teeth...and a few more that I cannot think of right now. You understand a lot of things and are able to get most of your toys/stuffed animals when daddy and I ask you to get one of them. You are wearing size 18-24 month clothes now and still size 4 diapers. You are eating great and eat most things. You used to love carrots and sweet potatoes, but you are not a fan at this time. Your favorites are green beans and broccoli...and of course you love any kind of chicken. You love to dance/jump, laugh, brush your teeth, read books, and take a bath. Your favorite thing to do is to go outside! You are so sweet and have watched me water blueberry bushes..and one day you got the pail I used to water the bushes by yourself and went to the backyard to water them without me saying anything. So smart!
The church surprised us with a trip to Gatlinburg, TN for pastor's appreciation month and it was wonderful! You had a great time! We went to Ripley's aquarium the first full day and you loved it. You wanted to run around and show daddy and me everything. You especially loved the penguins. That night we ate at The Alamo and it was really good. You ate salmon and broccoli. Every morning we went down for a full breakfast. You mostly ate toast (which is your absolute favorite breakfast food) and eggs, yogurt. We stayed in a hotel with an indoor heated pool and we went swimming the next day. We bought you a float and you did not want to leave. We had planned on walking outside on main street of Gatlinburg but you were ready for a nap. I do not think you particularly liked being bundled up, but you looked so cute!

You looked like such a big boy in this picture before we went out to eat at the hotel!

We went shopping at the outlets and you had to play in the icecream truck.

We were planning on leaving Saturday morning but they were calling for lots of snow, so we left late Friday night. It actually worked out pretty well because you just slept the whole way. We were planning on stopping at a pumpkin patch on the way home, but we were not able to go this year. We will go next year and let you pick out your own pumpkin.

You had your second Thanksgiving this year, but it was the first one that you could eat at! You loved everything from the turkey, dressing, mac and cheese to the cranberry sauce!
Aunt Kacie had a birthday party and it was at Dempsey's Pizza in Clinton. You loved playing on all of the games after we ate.

Unfortunately, you got sick later that weak with the croup and you were pitiful. You woke up at 11:30 and did not go back to sleep until 4:30. I gave you an albuterol tx, but it really did not help and then I gave you Tylenol and you were able to rest some. Grandma, Daddy, and I took you to the doctor as soon as it opened the next morning. You had to have breathing treatments and a steroid shot. We had to take you back that afternoon for another breathing tx. I took the next day off of work and we were able to play and rest all day and thankfully, you felt a lot better!!

Just being sweet.

Watering the bushes for mama.

Wearing your clemson outfit to church the Sunday after they won! You were the cutest Clemson fan I've ever seen.
