18 Months

The next few posts are a little late because I have been sick, however, better late than never : ).
We thank God for healthy well visits. Your stats at 18 months were:

                 Weight: 24.88 lbs (60.22%)
Length: 34 inches (93.13%)
Head Circumference: 18.5 in (38.64%)

The doctor said you looked great and that you were growing exactly as your needed to grow! You are going to be a tall little boy! He told us to keep you on regular milk for now, at least until you are two. You eat great and do good with a sippy cup. You were counting as the doctor was checking you out and he was amazed at how well you were doing. He did not know that you also know your alphabet, can identify letters and numbers, colors, shapes, animals and animal sounds, and the list goes on. I am amazed at how well you pick things up. I may teach you something one time, and you just soak it up.

Eating a sub. I think you liked it a little bit : ).

Swinging at the park with Daddy this month.

Sharing all of your toys with Daddy on the couch.

Happy 1 1/2 year old birthday Lucas!!!

17 Months

This post is a little late because we have been SOO  busy the past month. I had a continuing education conference in Myrtle Beach, then we had homecoming and revival the following week. It was so much fun, but we were very busy. However, Lucas of course hung right in there and was so sweet through it all.
At Myrtle Beach, we were able to meet up with our good friends Brandi, Elliott, and Brandi's sister. You loved meeting Elliott again. You played in the hotel room with her for a while and then we went to eat at Angelo's...our favorite place to eat in Myrtle Beach. The next day we went to Broadway at the Beach. You had a good time playing on the slide and shopping around with Mama and Daddy. We even turned your car seat around to facing frontward because your poor little legs were so scrunched up and we did not want to ride for 4 hours like that. We got home on Friday night and went to a wedding on Saturday in Greenville. We went to eat at Fuddruckers and you were sweet and shared your new animal toys with all of the little kids there.
The following Sunday was Homecoming and celebrating Daddy's birthday at Uncle Colby and Aunt Ashley's house. You got to take a bath at their house and loved playing with Bailey.
Every night of the revival, we went out to eat with the preacher's and their families and did not get home until midnight. You were such a trooper through it all! You loved it because you got to eat fries and two suppers every night! You even got extra milk which is your favorite.
This week, Daddy has been sick with a virus and basically living upstairs while we live downstairs. We have missed him so much and we are ready for him to get better!!
I cannot even begin to explain how sweet of a personality you have. Each week as you get older, we are privileged to witness what a blessing God has blessed us with. You wake up smiling and love to laugh. You are extremely smart. You can count to 12, you know the colors blue, green, orange, red, yellow, and purple, you know the shapes triangle, square, circle, heart, diamond, rectangle. You can follow almost any directions, feed yourself for the most part, and imitate almost any word. You are very social and love to play with other children your age. You have been warming up to having a baby cousin and try to give him your milk, snacks, and toys anytime he is around. So sweet! I love that you love having me around too....you are a bit of a mama's boy but that is ok : ). You love some Daddy too though and have been missing him a lot this past week. I have too! I cannot wait for it to get warm outside because you love to go outside and it has been raining and cold and you have had to stay inside quite a lot. I still rock you to sleep at night and we both love it so I still do it. You sleep good (unless you are teething) so we are going to stick with it : ).
You are still in size 4 diapers, 24 month clothes, 6-7 shoe size.

You were wore out the week of revival...poor thing : ).

New glow in the dark pajamas from Grandma/Grandpa. You wanted to test them out and turn off the light.

First pic with cousin Levi.

Loving bath time with bubbles. You love bubbles and to say "Pop pop pop!"

Eating a grilled chicken sandwich going to the beach! You would not let me break it up for you.

Doing a little coloring.

Riding with your seat turned around for the first time!

Being the sweetest helper and helping mama outside. You love to water the blueberry bushes!!
Lucas, what a joy you are. We love you. I cannot believe you are almost 1 1/2! It is crazy to think about. You are certainly a blessing from God and I love that your name describes you perfectly. We certainly prayed for you (Samuel) and you are such a bright light in our lives (Lucas).

16 Months!

At 16 months, you are counting to 10 and able to sing Happy and You Know It Say Amen appropriately! You are so smart!! You are also able to spell LUCA of your name. We are still working on the S. You are still continuing to say a new word everyday it seems and have lots of 2 word combinations! You are also able to point out the shapes heart and star. You can easily tell the difference between hot and cold and are able to say both words. You help to undress yourself and brush your teeth. You are able to point to all facial features (eyes, ears, nose, mouth, teeth, head, hair). My favorite thing for you to say is mama of course : ). You hold up the phone and say "Hey!" You amaze me how smart you are! I know you are mine, but you are so sweet! You are starting to feed yourself better with a fork and spoon. You still are drinking about 24 oz a day of milk and the pediatrician said that that was perfect and you will continue to do that until you are 2. You love spaghetti and love to play outside. You also love to lick anything and everything...but the doctor says that you are exploring textures and that is a good thing. You are a very good helper and love to help me vacuum and do clothes. You are able to follow many commands. You are ticklish and love belly kisses. Every time I change your diaper, you hold up your feet to my face and say "shew." You have the cutest laugh. You love to point at things and laugh with a high pitch and say "hehehehe." You are obsessed with Gold fish and run to the cabinet and say "fish" or "snacks." We are anxiously awaiting for baby Levi and you will be a cousin soon! You are wearing size 18-24 month clothes, size 4 diapers. You eat everything that we eat now. You only drink milk and water and you love both! Your skin is super sensitive and I have been having to use healing ointment and triple paste mostly instead of destin ointment. You have the biggest, sweetest heart and play well with others and try to obey mama and daddy.

You have taken over the remote. You are now able to climb on the couch by yourself.

I do not think I can stress enough how much you love to go outside! It is something we try to do for an hour everyday unless it is too cold or raining. You run straight for the woods behind our house. I'm not sure what we are going to do when it gets warm and we have to worry about snakes!

You love to come into the bathroom when mama is taking a bath. I did not have anything in the tub before I started. This is a picture after I got out. You like to throw all of your toys in the tub with me. You also throw towels and the bath rug in too if I am not looking.

Uncle Colby's store finally opened and we went for family night. Daddy prayed and then Uncle Colby showed us around. We are so happy for him!!

Checking the store out on Daddy's shoulders.

This is absolutely my favorite picture! Uncle Colby was practicing waving and you helped him out and practiced too! It was soo cute! Uncle Colby baby sat you for the first time because we thought cousin Levi was coming, but Aunt Kacie's induction was postponed. You loved spending the day with Uncle Colby though. You left him 2 dirty diapers and did not take a nap : ).
We love you so much! Happy 16 month birthday sweet boy!

Christmas 2014!

Christmas was so much fun this year because you actually were able to enjoy some of your presents! Our Christmas fun started with Grandma's side of the family at Uncle Getty and Aunt Tammy's house. We had hotdogs and you loved them! I was super afraid of the weenie, but I cut it up so small, you really could not even chew it : ).

You got the owl the sang "Owl be home for Christmas" from Grandma and Grandpa and loved it! Cousin Kacie and Michael gave you some blocks and you liked for daddy to put the bucket on his head.
And you liked to put it on your head too!
 Peek a boo!

Next, we had Christmas at church and you were so cute. I loved the bow tie and suspenders. I bought them in Pigeon Forge when we went in October. You got so many presents and the children put on the cutest Christmas play. We had fun celebrating Jesus' Birthday and had fellowship after the service.

On Christmas Eve, you spent the day with Grandpa while Mama and Daddy worked. Then, we had Christmas for Nana's side of the family. You actually broke the coffee pot you were playing with in this picture : ). We had a good time opening up presents and stayed after the party ended and opened up gifts with Nana/Papa, Uncle Lee and Aunt Kacie, and Aunt Coco.

After we left, we got in your pajamas and you went to sleep. Mama and Daddy stayed up until 3:00 putting up your toys and getting ready for Christmas Day.
We woke up the next morning and brought you down to see all of your toys. You just smiled and was not sure what to think. Mama and Daddy got you a big ball pit and lots of smaller toys. I think your favorite was the vacuum and the little watering pitcher I made for you.We all had matching pajamas which I loved!! I even got Uncle Colby, Aunt Ashley, and Grandma/Grandpa to wear them!

I cooked a big breakfast of bacon, eggs, and wheat toast that morning. You had never had bacon before. You had a couple of bites.

We also moved your pack n play out of the living room and got you a toy organizer so that you could see all of your toys.

Then, Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Colby, and Aunt Ashley came over for mama's birthday and to open our presents. Grandma and Grandpa got you a fourwheeler so of course we had to try it out.

Our matching pajamas
Ma and Pa and Nana and Papa came over later to look at all of your toys.

It was such a fun day! I pray that we teach you that Christmas is about celebrating Jesus' birthday as you grow older. It is such a special time of the year to celebrate with family!

First Parade

Uncle Colby is now the head pharmacist at a new Walmart that will be opening in Pacolet. During Pacolet's Christmas parade, he was handing out candy and we went to see him.

Uncle Colby and Aunt Ashely waiting on the parade

You were excited about going!

Giving Daddy some loving before and during the parade

 I love our little family!

You loved hearing the fire trucks, police cars, and seeing the horses in the parade. We also went to the Union parade. Right before it started, you peed through your clothes and all over me, but we just waited and watched the parade before we went to change you....what's just a little pee right? I think we will be going to many more parades in the years to come.
