23 Months!

One month away from being 2 years old!!!  You are still LOVING to sing. You sing and hum constantly. I have been surprised at how easily you memorize songs and their tunes. Any song that we sing to you a couple of times, I hear you in your new playroom singing away. We had the best idea this month and changed our downstairs bedroom to a playroom for you and Sadie and it has been wonderful!! You love playing in there and I love that you can go in there and I don't have to worry about you getting hurt or messing with something that will break. We are in the process of making it look like a playroom. You are still using the potty, still not potty trained. But, I have not been really consistent with it because it is hard trying to do it when I am pregnant. I am going to try harder these next couple of weeks. You are still wearing size 5 diapers and 2-3T clothes. 3T mostly in shirts and pajamas and 2T in pants. It just depends. I am looking forward to the next couple of months of going to Disney World, the fair, pumpkin patch, and just spending a little one on one time with you before Sadie comes. You put your little hand on my belly now and say "Sadie in mommy's belly." You are going to be the best big brother. You have your first hair cut scheduled for September 15th! We are going to get you a toddler bed soon for you to transition to out of your crib. I think you are ready and I really don't see you having a problem with it. You are the cutest, lovable little boy and I although I am so happy that you are growing and learning, I am going to miss you being little. I love the way you follow me EVERYWHERE and want to do everything with me. I love how you think Daddy and me are the most wonderful people and you just light up when we come in the room. I am going to end your monthly posts next month to end your "baby book." I am going to just spread them out some because I really enjoy just reflecting on the sweet things you do.

Eating wheat bread in the grocery store. Most kids like to eat chips, candy...You would rather have a piece of bread. You would not let me put the bread in the cart without giving you a piece first and you ate the whole piece!

Sporting the Preacher Jarvis slicked back hair look.

Grandma bought you the cutest sports coat.

Living the life. You love to prop up your leg and just lay back and relax in your car seat. You love plain baked Lays potato chips.

I was looking for you after I finished the dishes the other night and you had found your blankie, "spotted monkey," and snacks and sat down in your chair in the play room and was watching cartoons.

Drawing on your new chalkboard. I am so glad we got you this because you LOVE it. I love the cute pencils and we got the matching shelf to go with it.
 Your new playroom!!!

Next time, I will be writing about a 2 year old!!! We love you!

21 Weeks!

 21 Weeks!

How far along? 21 weeks!!!

Size of baby: Three-quarters of a pound and is approximately 10 1/2 inches long — the length of a carrot. The ultrasound said 14 oz!! Almost a pound!

Maternity clothes?: Yes!

Gender?: Girl!! Sweet Sadie Hannah

Movement: Yes! My favorite part of pregnancy. I feel like she is a little more active than Lucas was, but that might just be because I know what to feel for now...however, definitely active.

Sleep?: Pretty good for being 5 months pregnant and having a toddler.

Cravings?: Cold, sour foods. I have to have a green apple with salt everyday. I was eating lemons everyday. Grandma had to cook me sauerkraut and weenies with pork and beans with jalapenos. Spicy things taste really good to me, but I have been a lot sicker this time for sure.

Symptoms: Heartburn, but Tums help relieve some of it right now. Still throwing up some and very nauseous.

What I miss?: Cold diet pepsis.

Milestones: Finding out that we are having sweet baby girl and having a great 20 week ultrasound. It is always such a blessing to see a perfect baby with a healthy heart, brain, spine, and sweet fingers and toes.

What I am most excited about?:Buying pink and bows and tutus!!!

Its surreal that I am about to have 2 children! Wow! God has surely blessed us. We pray that you and your brother grow up loving the Lord and that God gives us the wisdom to raise you for His glory. We love you already sweet girl!

 Sweet baby Sadie!!

22 Months

You are becoming a BIG  boy. You do not look like a little baby anymore, and that makes this mama sad. We can actually have small conversations now. You are talking in sentences some. You still love Mickey Mouse clubhouse. I think you went through a growth spurt because there for a while, you ate everything. It has slacked off some, but you are still eating pretty good. You still take a nap around 1-3. Bedtime is around 10-10:15 now...I think campmeeting messed you up a little bit. You went to your first campmeeting. You loved the singing and then we usually had to let you play in the car for the preaching. You are in size 5 diapers now and.....you starting peeing in the potty!!! Hopefully, you will be potty trained before Sadie comes. We will see..You have moved up to size 3T clothes. You are can wear some 2T things, but are definitely filling them out. You LOVE to sing. You know Jesus Loves Me, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Happy Birthday, parts of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, and Wheels on the bus. Your hair is finally starting to grow and it is so sweet and curly. We may get you a little trim before your 2nd birthday. We are excited to be taking you to....DISNEY WORLD... for you birthday. Uncle Colby and Aunt Ashley are going with us. Its going to be our last big family trip before Sadie comes. You are obsessed with vacuums still and love playing outside. I have been able to go outside a little more with you which has been great. You are really so smart and kind. I am so thankful that you have been going to sleep so much easier this month. I love the cuddling without you crying. You love to read books and have most of the ones memorized that we read to you. You love jumping on the bed like a monkey and you are starting to realize how great Daddy is which is making him pretty happy. You love to rub his hair and play with your tools with him. Some of the little amazing things you have done this month were:
We were at grandma's house and talking about the air conditioner. You asked where it was at and we said outside. However, you ran over to the vent and said "air conditioner." Too smart.
You love to play asleep and snore. Then, you pop up and say "I'm awake!"
You do really well holding mama and daddy's hand when we go somewhere. You used to try to run off, but you hold our hands now.
You know left and right on the steering wheel
I am having pregnancy brain...there were a lot more, but I cannot think of all of them right now.

This month's post may be a little scattered because you had to sit on my lap while I was writing     : ).
Here are a few pictures from this month.

Playing outside. You like to write your name with chalk. (attempt to write it).

Playing in the car during the campmeeting.

The first time you used the bathroom in the potty!!

Playing at the mall!

You were a little obsessed with the escalator at the mall. You and daddy had to ride it 3 times!

Walking outside with Daddy in your matching Braves hats.

Swimming with your puddle jumper for the first time. You loved the pool and was not scared at all to jump in!

Playing with cousin Levi! Sweet cousin love!!

Happy 22 months to the most loving, sweetest boy in the world!

Zoo and Fourth of July

We took off July 3rd and took Lucas to the Zoo. It was raining the entire way down there and we thought that we were going to have to settle for the children's museum, but it stopped raining after we ate lunch and it was awesome weather! Lucas loved being outside of course. He was worried about the animals falling and loved to look at the signs. Here are just a couple of the pictures from the day.

For the Fourth of July, we went to Grandma and Grandpa's house and ate before going to see the fireworks at Foster Park. We were a little nervous because we did not know if you would like the fireworks or not but you loved them. You also loved playing on the playground before the fireworks! We bought you a new sword with lights and you are still playing with it.

We went to the park with Colby and Ashley and met Uncle Lee, Kacie, and Levi there. It was a great night with family and friends!

It's a GIRL!!!!

We were so excited to find out that Baby Franklin #2 is a GIRL!! We had a gender reveal party to let our family know about our sweet news. We went to the doctor on Monday, and had our families over on Monday evening. I am glad that we did not have to keep it a secret for long.

I found these cute little plates and table decorations that said "Little Man or Little Miss." We had pizza and salad like we did for Lucas's gender reveal. We also had pink and blue cupcakes.

Blue and pink lemonade.

More girl guesses than boys....
To reveal the gender, Lucas came out holding two pink balloons tied to a cute bear with a girl outfit on. He ran most of the way to the back yard before I had to pick him up. He was so proud to let everyone know that he was going to have a little sister. He had on a new shirt that said "Awesome brother." We also announced the name which is Sadie Hannah. We love having a good meaning to names. Sadie means "princess" and Hannah means "grace or graciousness." So together they mean "princess of grace or graciousness." We also wanted to have Hannah in the name to reflect from Samuel (Lucas's first name). We are thrilled that God has blessed us with a boy and a girl!! We cannot wait for you to join our family sweet girl! We love you so much already!!

21 Months

You are on the countdown to being 2 years old! You LOVE to play outside. Unfortunately, it has been extremely hot this summer and since I am pregnant, I have not been able to take you out as much as I did in the fall and spring. You love to play anywhere though! You love to sit and read to yourself and will sit and play with your toys by yourself. When you get your bible that Uncle Colby and Aunt Ashley gave you, you say that you are reading about Jesus. We are trying to get you used to the idea of having a little sister around. Lately, when we ask, "who made that mess?" you say "Sadie." lol. I cannot imagine what it is going to be like when she gets here. I know you are going to be the best big brother and I cannot wait to see you take on the role.
You are also going through a phase where you hate to put on clothes. You are okay with pajamas, but you hate other clothes. Hopefully, this stage will go by quickly : ).

Playing outside with your seashells and bucket.

Playing with the alligator in the bath tub from Colby and Ashley. You love to take a bath.

We got you a small pool to play in to try and keep cool. You love it and hate to get out.

Showing off your new Nike's.

Looking cute before going out to eat for father's day.

Your first wasp sting. You were with Colby and Ashley and they said you only cried a little. You are a tough little boy. You had no problems with it.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these curls. You have the sweetest head of hair.

My favorite picture of you wanting to hold my hand before you went to sleep. Oh how I am going to miss these moments!

Eating Baked Lays like a big boy. When we go to Subway, I give you the bag of chips and you just sit back and look out the window and eat like a big boy.

Your first vacation bible school at Welcome. You liked Smokey the Bear....you just did not want him to hold you.

We love you! Happy 21 Months!
