Snow Day!

Luckily, right after I went back to work it snowed, and I was able to stay at home! We had so much fun playing in the snow and stayed home all day and ate chicken stew. It was Lucas's first time really understanding it and he loved it. Sadie looked cute in her "snow suit," but stayed inside where it was nice and warm.

Putting on all of your snow gear.

I had you so bundled up, I did not think that you would be able to move, but you surprised me!

Uncle Colby and Aunt Ashley came over to play. They taught you how to make a snow angel and we had a snow ball fight.

We made Lucas's first snowman too! We used leftover Christmas candy for the eyes and nose! Lucas loved the snow and did not want to come in after almost 2 hours!

Lucas 2 year old well visit

I actually had your well visit scheduled the day after I went into the hospital for the placenta abruption, but I had to reschedule so that is why it is a little late. You are the sweetest little boy ever and I love you so much. You are such a good big brother and your Daddy and I are so proud of you. Here were your stats from your visit:

                                                 Weight: 29 pounds 9.6 ounces (55th percentile)
                                                  Height: 3 ft 3 inches (76 percentile)
                                                  Body Mass: 15.79 kg/m2 (32 percentile)

Dr. Egge said that you were talking at a 4 year old level and was amazed that you are completely potty trained (except for at night, you still wear a pull up or diaper).

We love you sweet boy!

Sadie 2 Months!

Unfortunately, I had to go back to work this month and I miss you and your brother terribly. However, you both sleep a lot while I am at work, so that makes it a lot easier. I breastfeed you at 5:30, then you eat a 4 oz bottle at 8:30, 11:30, and 2:30. Then, I breastfeed you for the rest of the time when I get home after work which is usually around 5:30 and 8:30. You usually go to sleep around 9:30 and sleep until around 12:30 to eat. You will go back to sleep and sleep until 4:30 when you wake up usually because you want to snuggle. I actually look forward to this time to snuggle with you until I start getting ready for work. Then, I feed you at 5:30.
You are starting to love to talk. Your favorite thing to do is to get your diaper changed and talk without any clothes on. You are in 0-3 month clothes. You wear size 1 diapers. Your are smiling a lot more now when mama and daddy make funny faces at you. You like to kick your legs as much as possible. At around 6 weeks, we introduced a pacifier to you because you could not get satisfied it seemed and you love it. It really helps you. Your favorite kind was the Avent one that Colby and Ashley got for you. At your 2 month appointment, your stats were:

                                                  Weight: 10 pounds 10.5 ounces (19th percentile)
                                                  Height: 22 inches (14 percentile)
                                                  Head Circumference: 14.65 (10th percentile)

You had to get shots at the doctor this time. I HATE when you have to get them, but you did really well. They did not seem to affect you at all!

You are the sweetest baby and you love your big brother. You like it when he lays in the floor with you to play. Here are a few sweet pictures from this month.

I loved these cute little shoes Colby and Ashley gave you. It is so fun dressing up a girl!!

Sweet girl showing off her gown at church.

Sadie, you are the perfect addition to our family and such a blessing. We cannot imagine what life was like without you now. You are the best baby and we love you!!!!

Lucas' First PB & J Sandwich and Adventures

I have been a little nervous about letting you try peanut butter, but a couple of weeks ago, you had an oatmeal cookie with peanut butter in it that Grandma cooked and did fine....so it was time to try mama's favorite sandwich..PB & J. You loved it!

You are the sweetest little boy ever. You love to sleep with your spotted monkey.

We had some professional pictures made for Sadie's newborn photos, but Audrey fell in love with you too. Your little personality is so cute and you are the cutest little boy around. You have the most handsome eyes and that wavy hair!!

You love to go outside. You love to play on your new swing set. Daddy and I try to take you out as often as possible, when it is warm enough. I was amazed that you were able to get the hang of swinging on the hand swings.

Riding your bike from Colby and Ashley. You will soon be riding to their house..You love some Colby and Ashley.

Did I mention you are the sweetest brother? You always want to help Sadie. You try to comfort her when she is sleeping and share your toys. In this picture, you wanted to sleep beside her to "make sure she doesn't cry."
You are the best big brother!!!

One Month Old

Your first month of life was definitely a blur. It went by so fast! It has also been the most amazing month because I have been at home with the 2 sweetest children a mama could be blessed with. You are very laid back until you get hungry, and then you are feisty! You eat more than your brother did at this age eating 3-4 oz at a time every three hours. You are not sleeping through the night yet, but the doctors said that we should expect that for longer than Lucas since you were a premie and need to "catch up." You rolled over once because you do not enjoy tummy time. Daddy went back to work a week after you were born and we missed him very much, but he was able to be off while you were in the NICU. I ended up getting mastitis not longer after you came home because I was only sleeping an hour or two because I was up pumping and calling to check on you in the NICU prior to you coming home. You actually latched on really well so I have been breastfeeding at night and feeding a bottle during the day. You came home in premie clothes and quickly grew to newborn. Your brother adores you and tries his best to play with you, help you when you are crying, and just look at you and tell you that you are pretty. You really perk up when he talks to you! You love to snuggle and are really alert. We are working on you being alert during the day instead of at night : ). But, I know this phase of life goes by so quickly, so I am enjoying those nightly snuggles with you. Mama, Daddy and Lucas love you so much! You are truly the perfect addition to our family.

Didn't I tell you that he adores you : ).

Going for your one month visit. So Sweet!

Your first trip to church. We went on a Wednesday night after your month check up. The doctor said that you were doing great and were a healthy baby! We are so thankful for 2 healthy children. I did not know what to expect at 28 weeks when all of that happened with the abruption, but the Lord kept you safe until you were ready to come.
We love you! Happy one month!

Christmas 2015

Although you were at home for Thanksgiving, we did not go out because you were SO little, so Christmas was Sadie's first big holiday that we got to celebrate. We were so happy to have 2 little ones to celebrate Christmas with this year! We did our annual tree decorating and baking cookies. Lucas was a very good helper with the cookies this year and enjoyed eating them too : ). Sadie just looked around at the lights. We got some iTwinkle lights this year which were really neat and Lucas and Sadie really liked them. You each got a new ornament. Lucas' ornament was of 2 snowmen of a Big brother and a baby sister and Sadie's ornament was a precious moment angel that had her birthday on it.

Enjoying your cookies!
